Smart Ways To Keep Your Skin Healthy And Beautiful

Day 9 – younger me
skin care

Just like with my make-up routine, I’m a less-is-more gal when it comes to my skin-care routine as well.

I have only 3 products that I use, regardless of season: Erin’s (of Inner Earth Soaps) Charcoal Complexion facial soap plus certified organic rosehip oil and sandalwood and palmerosa moisture cream (both by Perfect Potion).

And without sounding too conceited (I hope) they work. Whenever I confess my age – which is 41 – people will often say that I look as if I’m in my early 30′s.

I know that it’s not only my skincare regime – or lack of – that makes me look young (oh look out, I’m doing that head swell thing). I eat really cleanly – organic, home-grown, no preservatives or additives, full-fat foods and lots of fruit and veg; I don’t smoke; I wear a hat when I’m outdoors and I drink lots of water.

But I think the thing that has the biggest impact is that I’m still young at heart.

In my head I’m 20-something, with the knowledge of the 40-something-woman.

It’s obviously working for me… and yes, my head is starting to deflate now!

Your skin needs to be taken care of just like any other part of your body. However, people often don’t know the proper way to take care of their skin. The following article contains the knowledge you need to keep your skin at its best.

Use a makeup sponge to apply sunscreen. It helps to spread it evenly and it doesn’t give you time to feel its sticky or greasy texture. Using a sponge will get the sunscreen to penetrate deep into the skin, and also keep your hands from getting dirty.

Take care of your skin by eating properly. Eating things such as chocolate do not directly cause acne, regardless of what most say. However, your diet can contribute to skin problems in other ways. Eat healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. These foods are full of nutrients that can prevent breakouts.

Wearing lip balm whenever your lips are exposed to the dangerous rays of the sun is the best way to protect your lips. This creates a protective barrier against harmful sun rays that could penetrate that thin skin.

Smoking prematurely ages you and harms your skin. Smoking will cause your blood vessels to get thinner. This means your blood circulation is not as good as before. The repetitive motions made while smoking are also a contributor to wrinkles.

One way to maintain youthful and healthy skin is to use sunscreen regularly. Exposure to the sun can cause serious damage to your skin. You can prevent sun damage easily by wearing sunscreen under your makeup. Foundations that contain a level of SPF protection are also useful for this type of prevention.

At least twice a day, you need to cleanse your skin. This will assure that your skin will be clear of dirt and other things that make it unclean. After cleansing be sure to put on a moisturizer.

Remove unsightly whiteheads with a sterile knife. Exercise caution when using sharp instruments to open them. Then, use a comedome extractor to drain out the pus. This tactic relieves pressure from the pimple, which helps the affected area heal faster.

You should never use bar soap to wash your face. Bar soap should only be used from your neck down and never on your face. Bar soap is harsh and will dry the skin on your face. It can also lead to clogged pores, causing irritation and acne. Do not use a product on your face if it was not made for it.

Jasmine extract makes a great skin moisturizer. Your skin can get a healthy glow from jasmine extract. Because jasmine extract contains skin-nourishing antioxidants, it will give you smooth and supple skin. The only complication is that it may be a little more difficult to find when compared to other moisturizers. It is sometimes a lot more expensive.

If your skin is especially sensitive, use a good, sharp razor when shaving. Using a dull razor can cause skin irritation, and it may pull on hairs instead of cutting them. As a result, you can develop rashes, razor burn, and sore skin. Shaving will be smooth and effortless when you use a sufficiently sharp blade.

For the sake of your skin’s health, do not use tanning beds. Tanning salons marketed these melanoma boxes as “safe and easy,” but tanning beds cause cancer all the same. All tanning beds emit harmful UV radiation. Avoiding tanning beds will help your skin stay youthful looking and decrease the odds that you develop Melanoma.

The importance of proper skin care can not be overstated. You shouldn’t have a goal of just caring for your skin, your goal should be to care for it the right way. Try some of the great advice from this article for some powerful strategies to achieve perfect skin.
